About: The Annual Marketing
Achievement Awards
The Achievement Awards are designed and curated by Black Women Marketers to recognize outstanding achievements by Black women in the marketing industry.
Here, awarding Black women is a significant honor.
According to the Association of National Advertisers,
in 2021, Black women marketers made up 6.3% of the
industry. In 2024, the number hasn’t budged much.
“We created the Achievement Awards to celebrate the real impact Black women are making in an industry that often uses our culture and aesthetics
without giving us our credit. We’re not just the trends; we’re the innovators behind them. These awards
recognize the women who are driving the conversations, shaping the brands, and setting the standards—often without the recognition they deserve. This opportunity acknowledges Black women for their creativity, strategy, and leadership that’s been leading the way the entire time.”
Through the Achievement Awards, we highlight,
honor, and celebrate the creativity, concepts,
productions, and execution of marketing and
communications strategies and campaigns by black women.
Black women in any of the following fields are eligible for nomination: marketing, communications, advertising, graphic design, content creation, and influencer marketing.
We offer awards in 7
distinct categories.
“Every day Black women contribute to
marketing campaigns & strategies with
our expertise and intellect. Our cultural
contributions have set the standard for
creativity in the industry, and we should
be recognized for those efforts. These
awards bring light to women often
overlooked in this industry.”
